Dr. Chhana, DDS, MS

Dr. Chhana attended Baylor University in Waco, Texas, where he double majored in Biology and Medical Humanities. After college, Dr. Chhana attended the University of Texas Health, San Antonio, where he earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery with High Honors and a Distinction in Research. Here, he served as his class Vice President, was a part of the Japanese Exchange Student Program, and tutored other students extensively in fixed and operative dentistry. He also presented his research on Autophagy in Vancouver at the International Association for Dental Research and at the San Antonio Symposium. Additionally, Dr. Chhana was awarded numerous awards for leadership and academic merit.

After graduating dental school, Dr. Chhana completed a three-year residency program at the University of North Carolina Adams School of Dentistry. Dr. Chhana earned both a specialty certificate in Periodontology and a Master of Science in Periodontology after completing research on dental autotransplantation. He received extensive training on treating periodontal and peri-implant diseases, gingival recession, bone defects, implant therapy, autotransplantation, IV sedation, and various other surgical procedures. He also committed his Wednesday nights to the Student Health Action Coalition, where he served as an attending covering various surgical procedures for underserved populations in the area.

In his free time, Dr. Chhana loves spending time with his family and friends, traveling, and trying new restaurants. He also enjoys watching and partaking in sports—go Mavs!
